WHAT IS GO DESI! ‘Go Desi’ is a community radio project located at Desi Radio, in Southall, West London. The project is supported by funding from V and provides an exciting opportunity for young people to learn some broadcast skills and develop ideas, and to make programmes for the community on a real live community radio station. WHO IS IT FOR? We are looking for you if: ~ you're aged between 16 and 26 ~ you live, work or study in West London and ~ you're keen to learn new skills and make radio features and programmes that thrill you and will really engage our younger audience. WHAT WILL I BE DOING? You will need to commit to giving some of your time to the project over a 16-week period. That commitment can be flexible and may fit around your other commitments. During your time with us you can learn skills that will equip you to make programmes. We will encourage you too make the best of your ideas, interests and passions. You will be working on regular live programmes and could find yourself selecting music, booking guests, researching topics, interviewing, editing, devising features and competitions, presenting or producing shows! Sony, 25 MORE ABOUT DESI RADIODesi Radio is a community radio service for the Panjabi community we broadcast on 1602am, Sky channel 0169 and on-line at www.desiradio.org.uk We broadcast predominantly in Panjabi - however the ‘Bhangra Roadshow’ programme that ‘Go Desi’ participants will work on is broadcast in English. Desi Radio reaches an audience of some 140,000 people. It is owned and managed by The Panjabi Centre which is both a limited company (3387854) and a registered charity (1065534). |
