I specialise in media arts programming. I have taught media in further education but now have updated my knowledge of radio production on the PEARLS course.  This has extended my skills base for the future.

Dharma's report on being a London eco warrior Dharma Reddy
I joined the PEARLS 2 course in Jan 2008 and am really enjoying learning all about radio broadcasting. All the tutors and the other students have been very supportive and encouraging and this is helping me become more confident in my abilities. At the end of the course I will also gain a qualification so I would definitely recommend the training to anyone interested in radio. It’s truly a wonderful experience..

Manjit vox pops Manjit Kaur Sahi
I love working on radio - I love talking to people and sharing their problems.  I also enjoy learning computer, typing, swimming, singing and dancing.  I run my own dancing group called Rani Jaago Giddha Group. We do Jaago Giddha Ladies Sangeet at weddings and parties.

I joined the Pearls Course to learn about Radio Broadcasting.   I've had a really good time and met lots of great people at the Panjabi Training Centre.  When I'm not on the course I am working as a nanny and a freelance PR.  I'm currently on the BBC Step Up project as well, so I'm planning to continue to pursue a career in radio hoping to one day become a producer.  Fingers Crossed.

Rashmi#s interview with Niru Desai Rashmi Meswani
I am a BWY qualified Yoga Instructor. I have always loved interacting & communicating with people & hence the idea of doing something in media appealed to me. I joined the Pearls training course & loved everything about the course. I have learned about recording, editing, interviews, production, broadcasting, jingles etc. In future I am very keen to produce & broadcast my own radio programmes on health & self development.  On completion I am going to miss the course especially my colleagues & my tutors.

For a long time I have considered a career change and TV or radio production has always been interesting to me because I have always been a people's person and I feel that working in the media will enable me to reach many people and together discuss and share ideas about real life issues.  I have no doubt that radio production, be it at regional or local level, is a very effective tool for communicating, educating and informing with the public.  The radio production skills which I have learnt so far will no doubt be useful to me in the future.

Satbir's report on travelling by coach Satbir Chawla
My name is Satbir. I presented on radio in the past and loved it thoroughly. Pearls Training Course has given me the opportunity to do this, all over again. I love music and I would love to present a great programme, in the hope of helping a larger audience with my small effort.
